Join Grayshott FC
Community youth football for families in Grayshott, Hindhead, Haslemere and the surrounding Surrey and Hampshire villages. Boys and girls, ages 4 to 16, beginners very welcome.
Grayshott FC is a volunteer-run grassroots club based at Grayshott Recreational Ground on Beech Hanger Road. Our teams play in the North East Hants Youth League (NEHYL), and most of our players come from Grayshott, Hindhead, Headley Down, Beacon Hill, Churt and Haslemere. If you are looking for a first team for a four-year-old or a settled squad for a teenager, start here.
How joining works
- 1Find the age group
Work out your child's school year — our age checker does it for you.
- 2Ask about spaces
Squad sizes are capped, so check with the team before turning up.
- 3Come to a session
Try training first. No kit needed beyond boots, shin pads and a drink.
- 4Settle in
Two or three sessions is usually enough to know if it's a fit.
- 5Register
Complete registration on Team Hub once a place is offered.

Parent questions
- Can my child join if they have never played football before?
- Yes. Grayshott FC is a grassroots club, not an academy. Plenty of children arrive having never played in a team before, and our coaches are used to starting from scratch.
- Do you have teams for girls as well as boys?
- Our teams are open to boys and girls. Tell us your child's school year when you enquire and we'll point you to the right group.
- What age can children start?
- Mini Sparks takes children in Reception and Year 1 (ages 4 and 5). From Year 2 upwards children move into our age-group teams, which run through to U16.
- Where do the teams train and play?
- Most training and home matches take place at Grayshott Recreational Ground, Beech Hanger Road, Grayshott, GU26 6LS. Some age groups also use nearby 3G pitches during the winter — your team manager will confirm.
- How much does it cost?
- Subscription levels are set each season and confirmed by your team manager when a place is offered. We are a volunteer-run club and fees cover pitches, referees, kit, league entry and FA affiliation.
- What happens after I enquire?
- We pass your enquiry to the manager of the relevant age group. If there is space, they will invite your child to a training session so they can try it before committing. Registration is completed afterwards on our Team Hub.
